Canvas is where your online course will take place—your online classroom. We suggest you log in early to access your online course, and continue to log in frequently to complete coursework, engage with fellow students, and communicate regularly with your instructor.

MyUT is your student portal where you will find the collected information about the Library, Academic Calendar, Advising, tuition payments, Career Services, and other student resources. Students log in with their Digital ID and password.
Some of the secure functions of Utah Tech require a two-factor authentication program called “Duo”. In order to log in to MyUT and to use some of the functions of the Library, you will need to install Duo. All new Trailblazers will be invited to attend Orientation. You should receive an email from the school asking you to attend. While the majority of students attend in person, there is an option for online orientation. If your email does not include information, feel free to reach out to the Office of New Student and Family Programs.
Of course! Any Utah Tech student can an online course, and there are well over 200 available courses offered online. There is a difference between completing a full online program and simply taking online courses, including differing tuition rates. To see what online courses are available,

Often your courses will have information about required texts in the syllabus. You can also look up what textbooks may be required by visiting the Utah Tech Campus Store. To look up your required texts,

You have access to all the resources of the Library, even from a distance. Use the Library website to resaerch, to schedule an appointment with a librarian online, or use the “Ask a Librarian” chat function (on the right side of the screen in red) to get live help 24/7.
Before you will be able to log into any of your Utah Tech University accounts, you must first go to changepassword.utahtech.edu and set up a secure password. You will use your Digital ID as your username and select Forgotten Password, then follow the prompts to set your secure password. Once you have completed this step you will be able to log into any of your Utah Tech University accounts using your Digital ID and your new password.
