Our Mission

Utah Tech Online makes high-quality, affordable online education available to more students. We support active, hands-on learning that helps students build skills for their careers.

Our team provides services that support online students, faculty, and programs. We:

  • Help plan and design new online programs and courses.
  • Create active, hands-on online learning experiences.
  • Promote online programs through digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Support online students from admission through graduation.
  • Train and support faculty who teach online.
  • Explore new ideas and approaches to online learning.

Our goal is to make Utah Tech University a leader of active and applied online learning within the Intermountain West.

 

Innovation at Work

The Utah Tech Online team is located in the Technology Building (TECH), formerly the home to the Success Academy. The TECH Building is also home to the Utah Tech One-Stop Office. One-Stop helps online and adult students throughout their college experience, from applying to graduation.

The main entrance is located on the south side of the building. Employee and visitor parking is available south of the building and east of the HAZY building.

Our Team

Utah Tech Online includes more than a dozen professionals with experience in higher education and other industries.

Nearly all of our full-time staff members have at least a master’s degree, and some have doctoral degrees. Our team also brings experience from colleges and universities, businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and public schools.

Our History: Blazing Trails

January 2017

The Distance & Digital Learning office was created as part of the University’s 2020 Strategic Plan.

November 2018

The office became Digital & Extended Learning (DXL). The new name reflected its growing responsibilities beyond digital learning.

May 2020

The office expanded its work to include credit and professional non-credit online programs. It also began developing community partnerships and new approaches to learning.

Spring 2022

Utah Tech launched more than 10 new online programs through the Digital Flex Learning Initiative.
