ABOUT UTAH TECH ONLINE

Our Mission

Utah Tech Online provides leadership and support of high quality, affordable, active and applied online education that prepares learners for meaningful employment and career advancement.

In fulfilling our mission, we provide the following central services:

  • Assist in the planning and design of new online programs and other offerings.
  • Design and development of active and applied online learning experiences.
  • Promotion of online offerings through digital, social media, and traditional marketing channels.
  • Facilitating concierge support to online learners from admissions to graduation.
  • Orientation, certification, and ongoing support of online teaching.
  • Incubation of innovative, online learning models and practices.

As we fulfill this mission, it is our vision that Utah Tech University will be recognized as a leader of active and applied online learning within the intermountain west.

 

Innovation at work

Our team is located in the Technology Building (TECH), formerly occupied by the Success Academy. In addition to our team, the TECH Building is also home to the Utah Tech One-Stop Office, charged to support online and adult students from application to graduation.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of over one dozen professionals, with a vast array of experience in and outside of higher education.

Nearly all of our full-time staff members hold at least a master’s degree, some hold doctoral degrees, and many staff members have direct industry experience working with other higher education institutions, Fortune 500 corporations, state and federal governments, non-profit organizations, and in public education.

Our History: Blazing Trails

January 2017

The Distance & Digital Learning office was established as recommended in the 2020 University Strategic Plan.

November 2018

The office was renamed to Digital & Extended Learning (DXL) to align with expanded responsibilities beyond digital learning.

May 2020

Mission expanded to direct credit and professional non-credit online programs, and establish community partnerships and new learning models.

Spring 2022

Launching 10+ new online programs as part of the Digital Flex Learning Initiative.
